Sugar has always been a cyclical commodity. India has always been at a receiving end. Being the second largest producer and largest consumer of sugar in the world, when India is low on production and wants to import, international sugar prices increase. When India is high on production and wants to export, prices go down. Kesar has capacity of 7200 TCD.
Over the past few years, the spirits industry in India has witnessed a lot of fizz. Consuming liquor is no longer a taboo but an accepted social habit. Favorable economic conditions coupled with rising income trends have led to a sharp rise in consumption of liquor. Kesar is engaged in production of RS, ENA, DS/SDS and Ethanol.
Cogeneration is simultaneous generation of power which is exported to the grid along with the production of sugar. During the crushing season, sugarcane is crushed in the milling house to extract sugarcane juice and the byproduct; bagasse is conveyed to the boiler where it undergoes combustion in the furnace to generate very high-pressure steam.
